RESEARCH ACTIVITY:

1979 – 1983 Beginning of investigation in CFD. Analysis of steady and transient phenomena with numerical simulation of laminar Navier-Stokes equations and FEM. Thermal phenomena, natural convection. Fluids with temperature-dependent viscosity. Solutions of large, sparse linear equation systems.
1983 – 1986 Cooperation with Prof. C.O Popiel from PUT in numerical solutions of laminar, incompressible flow including heat exchange phenomena with the use of FEM.
1986 – 1988 Cooperation with Prof. E.Tuliszka from PUT in 3D boundary layer problems and laminar-turbulent transition in turbomachinery.
1988 – 1996 Cooperation with Prof. Frank Thiele, Hermann-Föttinger-Institut, Technische Universität Berlin in numerical solution of Navier-Stokes equations. Development of global, non-parallel flow stability theory. Investigations of wake instability, channel flows, control of the instability. Solutions of the large-dimensional algebraic eigenvalue problems. Penalty FEM on unstructured meshes. Practical experience in numerics, Unix system, computer graphics, formula manipulation programs.
1997 – 2004 Head of Virtual Engineering Group. Investigation in flow control, aeroelasticity, biomechanics, Finite Element Method, solutions of Navier-Stokes equations. Close cooperation with Dr.Habil. Bernd Noack and Prof. Frank Thiele, HFI, Technische Universität Berlin
2005 – 2008 Work on three-dimensional global flow stability, parallel computation, flow modelling, reduced order models. Further cooperation with ISTA TUB

TEACHING:

1979 – 1989 Exercises and Laboratory in Machine Design. Organization of Computer Aided Design Laboratory including operating systems, networking, elements of computer graphics, symbolic manipulation and FEM in statics and transient problems. Lecture on Numerical Methods in Continuum Mechanics, Poznan University of Technology.
1993 – 1996 Lecture on Numerical Methods in Continuum Mechanics at PUT.
1997 – 2004 Lecture on Numerical Methods in Continuum Mechanics, Finite Element Method, Modelling and Simulation at Poznan University of Technology.
